Meet the Koenigs

The Koenigs 

 

König (/ˈkeɪnɪɡ/; German pronunciation: [ˈkøːnɪɡ]or [ˈkøːnɪç]) is the German word for king.

So who are the KOENIGs? We are KINGS!!! 

 

Well not really, but that would be pretty awesome. If I did live in the day of the Kings I would have been a pirate. I'm a contradiction upon myself. I love to be spontaneous crazy and just have fun, but at the same time I feel the uncontrollable need to have complete control and security in life.

 

So we are the Koenigs. I'm Kari Koenig and the goofy guy next to me is my partner in crime or pirate of the sea Ha, James!. It is thanks to him that I'm able have a life filled with the contradictions of free spirited spontaneity and well structured security. He provides me with the motivation to go crazy when I want (and whenever he wants) but helps when I need to put on the brakes.

 

Together as of June 2014 we began on the craziest adventure of our lives... parenthood. We became parents to a wonderfully crazy little boy, who my uncle loves to call Double K! Kaleb is the most recent additional of K's to the Koenigs. "We love to get people tongue tied"

Recently venturing on to an age I thought I would never reach... the dreaded 30. I started thinking about things I have wanted to do in my life.

 

So the check list:

• travel (check... but still more to be done)
• buy house (check)
• marry and have kids (check and check)
• figure out a career that will make you happy (work in progress)
• writing and illustrating (hmmmm)
• painting (check "hobby").

So here I am. I have decided to pick up the pen and paper, so to speak, and get off my tush and write. Let the slow and most like awkward warm of writing abilities begin.

I'm here to share the adventures with the KOENIGs. 

We KOENIGs are great lovers of many things: beer, FOOD, travel, boats, cars, Art. It is because of all these things that we love that we like to get our hands dirty. Together my husband and I tackle the endless projects that arise from being homeowners, DIY'ers and most recent first time parents.

So what is KOENIG Style? 

KOENIG style is a way of life that fulfills the greatest needs of function and practicality while being splashed with the need for flair. KOENIG Style is a compilation of everything in life that makes us happy. From the eclectic home DIY projects, decorating, crafting and not to mention the importance of good food and drinks in life. This blog is a way for me to share the things I love with people those I know and those I will know.
